Guys, I have a samsung np530u3b-s02in notebook. It came with windows preinstalled and with samsung's 'easy settings' software. Natural screen colors are very weird. The contrast is not there, they are too whitish and not pleasant to look at. But the moment easy settings load, it changes my colors to pleasant mode.

I did some hit and trial and found out that it has 5 color modes and sets my mode to movie by default. Settings for all my profile are picked up from intelcolormode.ini in the 'res' folder. These settings are:

I want to install Ubuntu on my laptop now, but the color i am getting are again unpleasant, without contrast and too whitish. I tried creating an ICC profile out of these settings but couldn't as i don't have a calibrator.

Can someone help me out here? I would appreciate if some one can create an ICC profile out of these settings. Also if you can i can perhaps give all my mode settings and get the icc profile for them.

Patience! You could be waiting a long time since the easy way to create a .icc file is using a monitor calibrator, and not everyone has one. Alternatively, you can try creating the icc file using one of the programs here.

I can wait for long if someone says he will give it to me ;).

Anyways, I tried many tools but they all require calibration. I know the exact values and there is not tool that allows me to simply put them. They all show a bunch of colors and matrices and stuff. Without a calibrator its very difficult to get a good calibration.

But ya I will wait and hope. Thanks.

Never mind I finally managed to get an ICC Profile that works flawlessly with my laptop. I tried so many over the weeks but this one has almost the same calibration as windows. Let me know if anyone else requires the profile or this laptop.
