The cheap Chinese keyboard is a separate keyboard unit whereas both the U3C and U4C use the island-style keyboard which has the keys integrated into the keyboard surround / palmrest.

I don't know whether or not the key caps are interchangeable between the two different keyboard types.

If the keyboard is not backlit then the cheap and easy solution is some keyboard stickers.

I honestly see no point in the possibility of damaging 2 keyboards, when you can avoid all that hassle with some cheap stickers.
Ok, you're not a fan of using stickers, but are you a fan of reason? Cuz IMHO the reasonable thing to do, is to deal with the stickers for a couple months and patiently wait for a better deal on the palmrest. They will appear cheaper, if you wait for a good opportunity.. Last month I bought an entire water damaged 530U3C for €100, same thing will happen to you if you "stick it" out! Word games.. hehehe :p

    Good luck!

P.S- Also, the stickers will avoid wear damage, which will help sell it once you get the UK kb.
