I just notices a fairly quiet clicking sound, repeating every 5-15 seconds. I opened up the disk tray to make sure it's not coming from it. I also let the laptop cool down to make sure it's not a metal plate expanding and contracting (extremely fast?).

The sound started about an hour ago, I've been downloading my steam collection for 8-10 hours a day for the past 2 days. I hope to hell it's not my primary hdd, but that's the only other thing that comes to mind.

edit: I got both HDDs' SMART readings off of SpeedFan, and they both have their "Fitness" bars at maximum.
