So I recently bought this laptop from ebay and decided to do a clean Windows 7 Home Premium install just to get it clean and happy. I have all the drivers from the Samsung support site but only downloaded the software Easy Settings so that my function keys would work.
I calibrate the color of the screen to my liking, but every time I install a program or open certain programs(like Easy Settings) it reverts to it's old default color setting. I can set this back to my configured setting by going through "Calibrate Color". I dont have to touch any options, I just need to get to the end of the calibration and then click "Cancel" to keep my previous color setting and it goes back to the one I originally calibrated.
Obviously this is a really annoying problem as the default color is really awful. Thanks guys!

First try going to the display tab in Easy Settings, scroll down and select "No Effect". Then reboot.
If that doesn't work then run msconfig, go to Startup and disable igfxtray.exe and igfxpers.exe.
Also read http://forum.notebookreview.com/sam...es-7-chronos-np700z4-np700z5-icc-profile.html. I doubt if the calibrated profile was done for the 13" panel, but it might be worth try. If you have the Samsung PLS 1600 x 900 panel (display code SEC0100) as used on the Series 9 NP900X3B then it is somewhere in the X3B thread. If you think it is appropriate and can't find it then I can repost it.

Thanks for being so helpful.
Easy Settings "No Effect" and reboot option didn't work unfortunately.
I tried going into Startup but igfxtray.exe nor igfxpers.exe was not listed in the start up. I only have two programs listed one is skype and one is avast antivirus. I tried searching for them in my C:\ and I actually get two of them found. One is in C:\Windows\Systerm32 and the other is in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\c7137950.inf_amd64_neutral_e8bafa8621b0c86e\Intel . I tried to rename the one directly in System32 to igfxtray_backup.exe and when I try to rename the other one it gives me the error that I need "permision from SYSTEM to make changes".
But even changing the name of the first file doesnt fix the problem after a restart.
I went through the entire thread for the Samsung Series 7 ICC profile. I didnt like the color calibration of the ICC file they listed but i was hoping that the custom calibration ICC file I had saved already would work with the same directions. I tried every single fix everyone suggested in there and none of them fixed the problem. My laptop still switches back to it's default really blue tinted color profile. When I boot up it starts off as my custom profile, but once my computer finishes booting it switches right back to the default profile.
Basically I did every fix that was listed by going through Color Management > Advanced > Change System Defaults. I've tried it about 4 different times with Easy Settings first set to "no effect" as you suggested and then with it set to "Standard" as another member suggest and once again with "Sharp" as another user suggested. I then did it again with the "No Effect" just to be sure and it still does it.
Also every time I open Easy Settings it asks if I want to allow it to make changes to the computer. But it did not do this when I first got the computer from Ebay, it would just open without any problem. Also even if I click "no" to not letting it make changes to my computer it still will change back to the default color setting after a couple seconds.
I dont know if this is a contributing factor but the screen was replaced on this monitor before I purchased it. The Hardware ID is "MONITOR\SECFFFF" I dont know if that's useful or even contributes to the issue.
I hope there's still some kind of fix available :/ I need to use this computer for an art related job, so color calibration that stays put is really important to me. -

I'm sure the problem is fixable. First, I would note that the startup items loaded by msconfig (Start > Run > msconfig) are not only the items in the Startup folder but also anything in the registry. The list can get quite long. I don't think that changing the display panel is a factor.
I used to have this type of headache until I bought a Datacolor Spyder which seems to know how to configure its profile so Windows doesn't mess it up so I'm now getting rusty on the manual trouble-shooting. However, here are three places that might provide some insp
