    Hi folks

I would like to ask if the builtin battery on the NP700Z7C is removable, if so am I able to just plug in the ac power and run the laptop as usual or does the battery need to be installed at the same time.

Reason I ask is I don't like the idea of having battery on continuous charge even after being fully charged.

Sooner or later, you never know overcharged batteries may overheat and explode or catch on fire.

If anyone knows if its possible to just use the ac plugged in laptop would be appreciated.

Leave the battery in place. It also helps the weight distribution (the computer might tip over backwards if you open the display beyond vertical without any battery in place).

Firstly, once the battery is charged then the computer automatically stops charging it so there is no risk of overcharging.

Secondly, if you enable the Battery Life Extender option then the maximum charge is 80%, which considerably reduces the battery wear.

Thanks for that helpful info. It puts my mind at ease somewhat.
