for the life of me I cannot find a driver for the left side USB slot. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. It's a standard USB port I believe since it's not blue. I tried grabbing the USB 3.0 driver from the Samsung website but it downloads an empty ZIP file.

I think the USB 2.0 support, if not already in Windows, is built into the Intel chipset. Does Device Manager show any unconfigured devices?

The BIOS itself supports USB 2.0 so you can boot from a USB device.

Do you have a USB optical drive and a Windows disc (or alternatively make a bootable flash drive) so you can test to see if the BIOS offers it as a boot device (tap F10 or maybe Esc a few times immediately after starting the computer).

If the BIOS doesn't see a bootable USB device using that port then it probably indicates that the port has died.
