I like 15" notebooks without the num pad offsetting the keyboard and mouse pad. My last notebook was a Lenovo T530, the last of the T series with 15.4 screen and without the num pad. The Dell Precision 5510 looks great but very pricey after I tweak it to what I would like to have ($2000) and the XPS15 seems to have a few issues yet and can also get a little pricey. Lenovo does not have anything, but I came across the Samsung NP900X5L in the Number 9 series that has no options, but really is not that badly equipped for $1200.00 list. Would rather have a 512 SSD instead of 256, and 16GB instead of 8GB, but not the end of the world as is not having a back-lit keyboard. I came here to review postings and there is hardly a thing. Either nobody is buying this notebook or it is so darn good that nobody has any issues with it and no posts. Anybody here have one? Hello?

The definitive review of this notebook is at MobileTechReview (Lisa is also a member of this forum). The SSD is upgradable but the RAM is soldered. There is some limited discussion of the notebook in this thread. Given that a lot of forum traffic is related to trouble-shooting I would assumed that this notebook is relatively trouble-free. A further factor is that the US is now the non-Asian market for this notebook so the number of potential purchasers is substantially reduced.
The NP900X5L is effectively the successor to the NP900X4C but one change I don't like is that Samsung have shrunk the battery rather than provide the capability to run all day away from a power socket.
