I would like to ask, my Q35 ruby... on the screen left/right hand side and on the top side(see attachment)... seems like there is a gap of ~1mm... meaning the red cover n the silver one not fixed together that well...
but only at the area as shown in attachment... at the edge is all well fixed... i guess this is because of some clips that have some tolerance... because i can push with my two fingers, n they cover seems can be moved...
is this normal for other Q35 user too? just want to know if this is something that shouldnt be there... so that i can ask samsung for that matter...
thanks up front...

Nice photo!
I have just checked my Q35. The areas you have indicated have no gap . However, on the other side there is a slight (much less than 1mm) gap that I can get my thumb nail in if I push hard and there is also a bit of flex if I push the two parts of the display together.
I think that if you have a gap of 1mm then the assembly is not as good as it should be. And if the parts of the display are not fitted together then there is the possibility of over-stressing some components. Perhaps this is a factor behind the crack that AcePro has close to one of his hinges.

so do you think i should call samsung or i just need to let it be like that? cause i'm not really sure about it...

1. Is there any differential movement when you open and shut the display? My worry would be that any poor fit between the two halves could, in time, develop in looseness and overstressing of the hinge area.
2. Perhaps you could use the electronic messaging system to report this problem to Samsung support. Given them the same information as you put in your post plus, I suggest, express concern that there is risk of the problem getting worse. Then, if Samsung say that what you have is normal but you do hit problems later on, you have a record of reporting this problem.
The drawback about getting a repair done is how quickly will it be done? This type of problem should only take 1/2 hour from someone who knows how the display fits together, but I'm sure you don't want to lose the computer for a week.

1) At least for now, there are no significant different when i open or close the laptop. Only i realised this gap just because i accidentally clamp the side of the gap with my finger... n cause as my job is to work with accuracy from 0,001 mm... so thats why i found it is an obvious gap...
btw... what you said make sense, i will make the report to samsung later. together with the pic and so on... so true that this kind of problem can be solved within minutes... but if i send it back to them.. i think... it will be more than 1 week...
of coz i dont want my laptop to be away from me even within few days, cause i don't finish exploring the laptop yet... lol... this weekend gonna be my first weekend where i can actually explore it nicely... -
so today i have the time to email them regarding this problem... i hope they will response by tuesday, cause here we have holiday till monday... n i will update what they say regarding this matter...

*Some update*
They will collect my Ruby within 2-3 working days from now using UPS regarding this matter... so later i will have no ruby at least for a week or something like that...hopefully there will be no more trouble after this...

Yesterday I received back my Ruby... there no big changed... of coz its regarding the gap only... but basically... the gap closed already... maybe 0,1mm only left or something like that... but i think i can live with that...
hopefully there nothing worst happen later... -

I am glad to hear that Ruby is back. I think you were feeling lonely.
A very small gap at the joint is normal. I hope everything else is OK.

Yeah... i'm glad too...
at last... after a week waiting... lol... lonely n can't do so much things without it...
