The touchpad seems to have mysteriously stopped working on my laptop for some reason. Fn+F9 doesn't seem to do anything and it is still showing enabled in the bios. I have tried re-installing all the drivers but no joy..........anyone got any ideas ???

I really don't think this is a hardware problem as it was working fine one minute and not the next really annoying me as I bet its only something simple, any help would be much appreciated

Puzzling... This hardware is normally very reliable.

I suggest you boot from a live Linux CD (you might already have one with a magazine or download from somewhere like Ubuntu) and see if the touchpad works OK (I've had no problems with Linux detecting and install the touchpad).

If it works with a live Linux CD then it is very likely the drivers have got corrupted in Windows. You could try uninstalling the touchpad in Device Manager and letting Windows redetect and reinstall.
