    Check what the manual says.

The Q40 has a slim form factor and the RAM / HDD may not be as accessible as on the thicker Samsung notebooks (I know the Q35 has the RAM and HDD under covers on the bottom - see photo in my Q35 review - which may guide you on what to look for).

Already found that to replace RAM i should unscrew 6 screws on the bottom and look under the keyboard. But what about the HDD?

If there's no cover on the bottom then you probably have to take off the entire bottom of the computer. It is a 1.8" HDD.

This thread suggests someone knows how to get inside. This one describes the type of connector. This news report says the Dell X1 is a rebadged Q30 (that's why Samsung have only now started selling notebooks in North America). So visit Dell's support site and study the service manual for the X1.

    Yep.

I installed new 1.8" SSD. Now it's really faster. And much quieter.
I'm looking for RAM now (i wanna install 2GB module). Maybe you can adwise me what frequency i should to choose? It seems that 945 chipset supports 533 and 667 bus when processor (U1400) has only 533 front side bus frequency. And is there any difference in timings? 533 MHz 4-4-4-12 will be better than 667 5-5-5-15? In my system i mean.

I would get DDR2-667 and let the system decide. It may only run it at 533MHz, but with the 533MHz timings.

Or you might want to try your luck with DDR2-800. The OCZ module I am using is CL5 at 800HMz and CL3 at 400MHz. I will try that module in my NC10 (also Intel 945 chipset) later today and report back.
