    Hello all,

I am thinking about Samsung's new model QX510. Any Samsung owner here? What do you think about it as multimedia machine (3D CATIA, Photoshop, Autocad, movie making, gaming etc.) is there enough power for such a things? What about battery life, is it really 7,2 hours with medium use?

    Here are some specs:

Hmm.. try to look for the information on Samsung official site but I think that it is not avalible yet. In Europe it's already on the market and cost's about 1100€ (in Australia 1500$ :) ). BTW pretty nice looking machine, isn't it?

P.S. I have updated specs. These are from official Samsung site and should be 100% correct :)

I would point out that the hardware specification of a Samsung notebook in one country is not a reliable guide to what may be offered in another country. Components such as CPU, GPU, amount of RAM, HDD capacity, whether Bluetooth is included are decided when a country sales office orders a batch from the factory.

Notebookcheck has some details of this notebook with a couple of links to reviews (use the Google translate function). The second review contains some benchmark results and also an indication of the battery life (3 to 5 hours). I think Samsung's 7 hours is very optimistic - I struggle to get that on my Dell E6410 with Intel graphics and a 9 cell battery.

Performance-wise I'm sure that the QX510 can handle your proposed workload without difficulty although upgrading to an SSD will boost the performance further (something to look forward to as an upgrade as and when an SSD of the size you need becomes affordable).

Thank you for the reply! I'm just wondering why this notebook isn't popular or there is not much reviews about it... ? I also seen some guy tested battery and he got 7 hours on medium use.

I don't know if he is some Samsung promoter but thats what he typed on forums.

If there is such a battery life and specs like this that almost all games even COD4:BO (never played) :D will be running smooth... this one could be my next buy. :)
