Hello,
I'd just like to know whether you guys have had experience with any 2 of the mentioned laptops in the title.
The HD4650 in the R620 is great but how does it fare with heat and noise?
The Hd4330 in the R522 is not a too bad compromise for a smaller-form factor.
Which is best in terms of quality and durability?
Thanks

You can find out the relative performance of the GPUs at Notebookcheck and you can click on the GPU name to see other data such as power consumption.
The R620 includes an embedded numeric keypad but has the same display resolution as the R522. The UK R522 seems to have an Intel GPU.

Thank you,
but in terms of durability which one would you recommend? -

I would expect durability to be similar: Both are the latest generation and will have many design similarities. In fact, the size difference between these two notebooks is very small but the R620 is a little heavier.
The key differences appear to be that the R522 has a reasonably powerful GPU and will have moderate 3D gaming capability while the R620 offers playback of Blu-ray DVDs.
The HD4650 is rated by notebookcheck as 15W - 25W while the slower HD4330 is rated at 7W. I would expect the latter CPU to also use less power under light usage so, overall, the R620 will be cooler and quieter.
The decision depends on whether you want the more powerful GPU in the R522.

PS> There's an R620 review at Trusted Reviews, also the R522, so there are some useful comparisons. -
Thanks a lot.
I didn't have much time to continue my 'research' on those laptops due to
exams.
Now that I'm free, I've been reading around the forum and I saw that the cpu is soldered to the motherboard.
Would that be a major drawback? -

CPU or GPU soldered? CPUs tend to be socketed except in the thinner notebooks where avoiding the thickness of a socket is considered more advantageous than the convenience of using different CPUs to suit market conditions.
GPUs tend to be soldered because they are rarely interchangeable.
