I have just purchased a Samsung R610 Laptop, it has a HDMI port and a VGA port (a female port-requiring a male VGA cable). I would like to use my blue ray player on the laptop and view it on my 4 year old Toshiba 32WLT58 TV in HD. The Toshiba has a S-Video port (a female port requiring a male cable) and three RCA ports- red, green and blue (female ports requiring male cable inputs). I could not find a HDMI port on my TV, I think the newer versions have one. I was going to buy a VGA to RCA cable (3 cables) but after I read the specification and I decided not as it said that my Samsung would have to have a VGA card and a TV out facility which I do not think it has. Can anyone advise me what cable and or adapter to buy and if you know of a supplier, preferably in the UK.
    Thanks, Paffley

I would start by looking through the products at Maplin since they are electronics specialists.

UKDVDR also have a good selection of cables.

Wow do the R610's in the UK have blu-ray drives? Kind of a waste on a 16" 1366x768 screen imo, but that's neither here nor there.

Anyways, I guess you could try a VGA to component converter, but I don't know if that'd work. HDMI is probably the only way to go, but since your TV doesn't have any HDMI inputs, then you're kinda out of luck in this case.

Here it is. Or you can save some money and do without the Blu-ray.
