    Computer: Laptop Samsung R70
Here's what I've done: Instaled Vista premium windows ( original, got me a cd with a laptop); instaled video drivers ( from internet 179.67 for Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS, but I don't think this is a video card problem ); instaled all drivers from cd given with laptop made for Windows Vista

The problem: the brighness is allways mid dark. By presing Fn+(arrowup) - Fn+(brightnessup) and Fn+(arrowdown) - Fn+(brightnessdown) only the brightness bar apears, it shows that brightness is being ajusted but the brightness it self of the monitor doesn't.
Now I have Windows 7 Evaluation copy Build 7077, instaled same drivers, same thing ( doesn't ajust brightness, only it shows that is being ajusted ) I think the drivers should fit from vista and the problem is elsewhere.
Reistaling the drivers didn't help on Vista or on Windows 7, just made the brightness on full ( highest brightness) and that only last till next computer restart, then it's mid dark again. Ajusting power setings doesn't help either.
It's very annoing. I can't see a thing on my screen on a very bright day :/
Thought anyone here could help me :)

    P.S. sorry for my spelling

    Thomas

sorry, I had Windows 7 build 7700, now it's 7100 RC. Didn't try to make it work on these, because I don't rally know wich drivers to instal exactly.

I think you need to install one of Magic keyboard and Easy Display Manager. I can never remember which reads the Fn key commands.
