The battery on my 2-year-old R700 seems to have failed. It had gradually been needing more frequent charges, but now it seems to be almost completely dead. I say almost, because when I press the button on the battery pack the 20%, 40% & 100% LEDs flash; this happens whether it is plugged into a charger or not. Can anyone tell me what this means?

As there are several connectors on the pack it isn't obvious which connector does what. I have repaired several battery packs in the past by dismantling the pack and revitalising the individual batteries - does anyone know how to dismantle the R700's pack?

    TIA, David

I think that if all the battery charge lights together then that's to indicate a dead battery. Two years is a fair lifetime.

I can't help you regarding the battery connections and dismantling. The increased availability of Samsung notebooks means that replacement batteries are easier and cheaper to find.
