I ordered one of these from Bestbuy.com tonight and Im curious about the maximum supported ram. The best buy site say it maxes out at 4gb. The Samsung site says it maxes out at 8gb in the FAQ. So whos right?

If its a matter of 64 bit vs 32 bit thats fine. Ill throw 64 bit win7 on, Ive already got the disks. But if the mobo only supports 4gb, the 8gb of ram I ordered is gonna be kinda worthless :(.

Has anyone upgraded the ram on these?

Someone, in another thread, got confirmation from Samsung that one of these new models could handle 8GB. The Intel HM55 chipset can address at least 8GB and it is unlikely that Samsung would have imposed a RAM limit of 4GB in the BIOS.

I just upgraded my R580 i5 to 8gb RAM so I believe the R780 can do the same. Have to look at the specs/manual of the R780 for the max mem allowed.

Thanks for this confirmation. They are the same family with very similar hardware inside a different size of chassis.
