Hey Hey Hey,
Guess who's back![]()
LOL Anyway how have you guys been?
I have had the Samsung R780 for like a year right now, no complains, ran every game i wanted to play. It did handle 3d modelling and stuff fine, matlab ran well and all. but recently it has been slowing down, got a blue screen once or twice. It usually slows down when i re-open the screen after i keep it close for a long time. Start-up is also slow. I also noticed my C drive becoming clutter with unwanted programs that take alot of time to uninstall. So I was wondering where I can get a Windows 7 OEM disc for my samsung?
My Samsung Recovery 4 Solution program cannot load either and I see no restore partition either, so is there I a way i can do a clean install?

The manual says to press F4 when booting to start the recovery. But, if the recovery partition isn't there, that won't work.
Otherwise, http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...-7-download-links-just-like-vista-before.html is probably the thread you want to read. -
Thanks man, that really helps, i got the iso burned and all, but before i do the install, is there away where I can get back some of the preinstalled software's that came with the laptop? Does samsung have any software recovery disc?

As far as I can tell, all of the Samsung utilities are on the Samsung support site for the R780. I don't have my R780 with me to compare. The trial versions of things like Office and whatever anti-virus Samsung install won't be but you can find copies of these if you are buying the license. I can't remember if there is anything else installed that you might want.
Samsung don't supply a recovery disc. There is a utility to burn one. It should be on the desktop, but there are instructions in the user guide. Again, the user guide should be on the desktop.
