Samsung Recovery Solution III not working- Please Help!

Please help me fix my computer, I have a Samsung N110.

My computer needed to be recovered from a previous state. I tried to use Complete Restore on Recovery Solution III, but when I try to recover from the most recent backed-up state, a pop-up appears and says "Unable to insert an item". I tried to recover from the oldest state (initial computer setup) and the same thing appears. My backup is on the D: drive

Now when I try to open up my computer it says "BOOTMGR is missing Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart" and if I restart it will just say this again over and over. I could not find anything online about this problem. Please help because I need this computer for some work purposes.

I know nada about your particular laptop recovery system, but if you have the OS disc, you could try to repair start-up?

If you don't have an OS disc, you can find original ISOs of them easily enough. You would just need to set the BIOS to boot from disc in a notebook. But I guess this is a netbook, so I assume you would have to burn the ISO onto a USB pendrive (use the HP formatting tool) and set bios to boot from that. Then just select the 'Repair you computer' then 'Start-up repair' options.

Worth a try. Someone else might have a better approach, though.

 

Mela, where would one find an ISO of the OS disc? I never got one with my Samsung Netbook and want one.

Your problem is not something specific to Samsung but means that Windows (which version?) has got its underwear tangled.

Feed "BOOTMGR is missing" into Google and choose the hits relating to your version of Windows.

Thanks for the responses! The reason I thought this might be specific to Samsung, is because the "BOOTMGR is missing" didn't happen until I tried to use the recovery program...which makes me believe that the recovery data is somehow corrupt. If that is the case, I am unsure what to do if I need to recover data in the future.

I am contacting samsung, as all I have is the disc that came with the box, and I tried to use it to boot from BIOS and it doesn't work, so I am assuming it doesn't have Windows on it.

My computer doesn't even work in safe mode, I've never had my computer unable to do that in my life!

 

Oh, and it's Windows XP, btw. I can't seem to find anyone with a Windows XP disc handy.

 

You should be able to reinstall the factory image by pressing F4 when the BIOS screen is showing. See the Samsung guide. The full reinstallation will wipe everything on C: but the basic restore option might fix the Windows boot problem.

Recovery Solution 4 it's compatible with your os/hw? If yes try to use that.

 

As the only other person in the world (it seems) to be experiencing this problem - did the OP find a solution?
