I have recently bought a Samsung Series 3 notebook.
In the Settings application it has a feature called Eco Mode. I was wondering what enabling this does exactly.
It didn't seem to dim the screen. Did it limit the CPU speed? Does it do anything else under the hood?

On my Series 9, the description says:
"When you turn on Eco Mode the power plan is changed to Samsung Eco Mode and Wireless LAN, Bluetooth and Wireless WAN are turned off".

What it doesn't say, but running HWiNFO quickly reveals, is that by default the CPU is locked down to minimum speed. It is, however, possible to edit the Eco Mode power plan using Power Options and change the performance settings to whatever you want. eg maximum processor state of 99% and set a lower brightness.
