Just got this NP350U2A-W01UB 12.5 inch Samsung Series 3 laptop from Best Buy and the bluetooth isn't working. Went to Samsung support site and got driver and installed it. Device manager shows the bluetooth adaptor is installed and working properly. However, no software to use bluetooth is installed. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Does the Bluetooth icon show up in the notification area?

No bluetooth icon .. nothing .. just the apparently ghost hardware showing up in device mgr.. nothing to indicate it can be used .. its possible this model doesn't actually have bluetooth ..

Two things to check: (i) An Fn+? key shortcut to enable / disable wireless devices; and (ii) A hardware switch to do the same. Many notebooks have one of both of these.

Bluetooth shouldn't be listed in Device Manager unless it is present. Also look in the BIOS to see if it lists the hardware configuration and what is the hardware config listed on the label on the box (the label is put on by the factory and is usually more accurace than the published specs).

    Good suggestions ..

no hardware switch on this model .. there is a Fn key for .))) wireless but it just brings up Wifi mgmt software.

label affixed by mftr indicates the model is what Best Buy site indicates it is and that it has bluetooth.... Samsung site for this model says it could have bluetooth ... though with exception Samsung support for this model indicates bluetooth is optional.

It is possible driver software can install without hardware?

this is baffling.. does anyone have this model and have bluetooth working? thx

i bought the same model from Best Buy recently. I've contacted samsung with the same question, does this model actually have the bluetooth radio built in? It's strange that the drivers only came out on Jan 17th for the bluetooth. Once you load the drivers nothing happens. You don't actually see the bluetooth device. It was confirmed by the tech that it doesn't seem that there is bluetooth hardware installed, but yet they advertised it with BT 3.0. Complain to Samy that they false advertised.. looks like none of the units sold at bestbuy have the actual hardware installed.

I had the Best Buy Series 3 and quite liked it, but returned it. It didn't have BT and they stopped advertising it with BT. If it had USB 3 and a backlit keyboard it was going to be good, if it had higher res it would have been great.

Then the Series 9 came out, and I returned it to get the machine it was meant to be, in a month

I ordered this from Best Buy in January:

    Samsung-Series 3 Laptop / Intel® Core™ i3 Processor / 15.6" Display-Black/Silver-NP300E5A-A01UB

Had bluetooth working like a charm the entire time. I was using the Apple Bluetooth keyboard.

Last night I did a windows update and much to my chagrin, I logged in today and BT is nowhere to be found. I have been searching for a fix for the last 6 hours....

Has anyone see this? I am completely baffled...

Thanks in advance for your help.

Is BT enabled in (Easy) Settings?

Does Device Manager show any BT devices?

Does Fn+F12 turn wireless devices on/off?

    Hi,

I have an identical problem with my np300e5a notebook. Bluetooth has been working fine for 8 months but I cannot now access it. I can see what looks like a bluetooth driver in "Device Manager", but can't find any way to turn Bluetooth on or off, and cannot locate any other bluetooth devices. Does anyone have any idea what has happened and how I can fix it?

    Many thanks,

    Kistrantious

It`s in Easy Setting, looks in the Samsung Folder in the All Programs, one of the F keys turns the wifi and bluetooth on and off as well.
