If the listing here is correct then the HDMI port is soldered onto the main board. Are you wanting to replace the whole board (expensive!) or just solder on a new port if you can find one that is compatible. First you should check whether you have just damaged to existing soldering. Excess force can break the soldered joints.

I'm an electronics hobbyist and have done similar replacements before. just want to solder a compatible replacement socket. Replacing motherboard isn't an option for me.

I found this as similar one on Samsung board.

If it looks like it will fit then I would give it a try. I suspect that most components use a number of standard shapes and sizes for ease of sourcing the components at good prices. There's a significant extra cost of wanting something non-standard. Samsung won't have part numbers for individual components.

    Hi terranigma,
In addition to having a 550P5C, I'm also a electronics technician..
I haven't dismantled my laptop for a while neither I intend to.. However here's a tip. HDMI ports vary more than they should from laptop to laptop, especially in height or pinout configuration.. If you can't read a part number anywhere, I recommend you Google the motherboard part number to find schematics and parts number references.. If that doesn't work Google other mainstream Samsung laptops motherboards images to see if you find a match. NP300 series is a good way to start and AliExpress is a good site for pictures.

    Good luck!

Thank you guys for replies. I just ordered a spare socket from aliexpress link above. I checked the photos and the one at the listing seemed to me best option that I can go for. Original one has asymmetrical legs at sides so does have the one at link.
