Hi there. I wonder, is it possible to replace an optical drive with some SSD and save the appearance of my laptop(some kind of cap)?

Is your current optical drive a slot or tray loader? If the former then this thread should be relevant. If the latter then there are generic HDD caddies that can replace optical drives. This thread may help.
I would also point out that the optical drive bay usually has a slower SATA interface than the main storage bay. It is therefore preferable to put the SSD in the main bay and the HDD into the caddy.

I just placed a SAMSUNG SSD (250GB) where the HDD was. I installed Windows 7, but none of the other drivers seem to be on the disc. I've gone to the samsung website and will instal those. But the weird thing is that the function keys won't work for brightness. Does anyone have experience replacing a drive for this?
thanks! -
