Hi, I am a complete tech noob so I'm wondering if someone could explain to me the difference between the Samsung series 5 and series 7 laptops.

In terms if the specs, they seem pretty similar. Is it the build quality of the series 7 much better? Can someone explain to me some of the differences?

    Thanks!

I really don't get how they can fit a 650m in this model but not the 7 series chronos...

My guess (only a guess) is that the Series 5 are a bit thicker and are built of plastic while the Series 7 are thinner and use more metal. The extra thickness provides more space for a bigger fan.

No quad means some better GPU can be used to fill up the thermal headroom.

It means that the Series 7's GT 640M with GDDR5 will be superior...

This and the MSI GE60 are actually looking pretty good to me, but I wish they would throw some backlit keyboards in these!

I dont think I've really seen any pictures of it, but that's upsetting if true...

It's really hard to find a laptop that has everything you're looking for lol

Agreed. And yes that is exactly how it will look. There is a youtube video, you should check it out. I thought of getting that MSI and have resellers wrapped it all black, but then all the upgrades were pricier than Sager units

Would the 14" with the 640m gddr5 be a stronger machine than this one? oo
