Hi everyone,
I just bought a brand new Samsung NP700Z5A and as soon as I turned it on I noticed the backlit keyboard was not working properly, only the F12 key was on while the others remained dark; otherwise the laptop runs perfect.
Did anyone have the same problem? any idea how to solve it? (I tried several things in the settings but nothing changed)
Thanks in advance

Had the exact same problem. Had to send it back and got it replaced with a new computer.

F12 key is Wifi key so it's remains lit even if the keyboard backlight is off. If you increase backlight (FN+F9) the entire keyboard should turn on.

I called Samsung support and they told me that it is a hardware problem and they will give me a new one.
Thanks for the comments -

I have the exact same problem. Is it really a hardware issue? Because mine starts working randomly after some time resuming from sleep.

I was told by my retailer that it was a hardware issue and that it should work right out of the box, so I returned my first notebook and they filed it as DOA (Dead On Arrival) and promptly sent me a new one which has worked perfectly since I got it 2 weeks ago or so.
So yes, its a hardware issue. Might be a very small one for sure, like a bad cable or connector, but still a hardware issue. -
Thanks, in my case updating bios seems to have stopped it temporarily, let's see if it strikes again
