DEAD after 0x9C system crash.
BSOD 0x9C out of the blue, automatically reboot and it will no longer post. DEAD. This set was TWO days old. Sending in for DOA on Monday.
EDIT: Managed to get it boot up once and shockingly, the screen is full of lines and garbage colours!
Just to gather some information, anyone had similar issues?

Your typical use case / apps or usage running before crash would be more informative!
Mine is barely two days old! But have yet to use it extensively yet! Still setting up the system!
Other than the touchpad(jumpy) issues I have no crashes or BSOD's yet!
I will be mostly using it for my cad/3D, photography and games. will let you know in a day or two after using it! -
Mine developed a line of dead pixels on the screen after 29 days so I returned it to Amazon. I have ordered another Chronos as a replacement.
How about you? Are you giving up on the Chronos? -

Interesting...Hardware issue??

Wow! This definitely scares me. I haven't even purchased one and would hate if this happened to me. Hope you get it fixed or get Samsung to send you a new one yknyong.
However, just curious. Could disassembling your machine have caused this to happen? I saw your other detailed posts where you took apart your notebook. Perhaps a wrong connection or something when putting it back together? -

I hope that your problems are not related to this thread.

When it did boot once, lines appeared throughout the screen. -

I just bought one of these yesterday, and had the crazy lines in the graphics after a couple hours of use. Clearly a HW failure.
Fortunately in my case, it was an easy swap at the Microsoft store down the street. No problems using my new machine after setting up all night! -
Without more cases, it is hard to tell. -
I doubt it is anything inherently weak. One thing to note is that neither of us were doing anything particularly strenuous. (I gather that from your post, I was merely idling when my issues happened.) The bad nVidia problems from 2008 only showed up under load. I'm going to guess it was just a couple bad apples...
Maybe just some bad solder connections, perhaps... -
Mine is still working fine and I was one of the first who bought it...

The Series 7 was announced in Germany at the IFA (IIRC) and apart from the BestBuy model it was first in stores in Germany.
But yes, I'm an early adopter without the problems some "not early adopter" people here have -
hi,
for those that got it replaced - what is the samsung experience like regarding warranty/exchanges/returns etc?
never bought a samsung product before so just wondering, as i wana buy this laptop.
thanks -
Most of the units sold are still from the first batch - the early adopter batch which has not been optimised through revision. That's why the components used are still the same parts. -
.
The AMD OpenGL problem never occurred because I updated asap to the Leshcat drivers, never had Touchpad issues, bluescreens, reboots.
Hardrive still working, ExpressCache still working, screen has no green lines, GPU switching working (at least for the applications I use...).
Have I forgot something? -
It seems that Samsung has low stock for the model. My replacement set is still not ready.

4th DOA and Samsung has given up. Refund!

When will notebook makers ever get it right? I am really reluctant to switch to Apple because I strongly dislike using OSX. But I have to say that I envy the superior build quality of MacBooks.
