Hi,
Recently, I accidentally reset the ExpressCache data - now my laptop takes more than a minute to start up. I tried fixing this problem by uninstalling and reinstalling Easy Settings and ExpressCache as well as running Speed Boot, but none of it seemed to significantly speed up the initial start up.
Can someone please help me solve this issue?
Thank you

Yes I have already looked over that thread, but I'm just not sure if the posted solution is applicable to the problem I'm encountering. It seems like that thread is more for people who have reinstalled windows or changed their hdd to ssd. Also, I can see the ExpressCache menu on Easy Settings after I've reinstalled them - it's just that every time I open up Easy Settings, the ExpressCache cache usage is always ~1%.
Maybe I'm just not understanding what the real problem is - if this is true, it would be very helpful if someone could further clarify what's going on with the ExpressCache. -
Also as an update, for some reason, the ExpressCache only works when the computer is plugged in...not sure why this is happening.

I have the same issue, it works working fine, and it stoped working after I reinstalled windows7, even though I can see the express cache settings. It is just the blue bar doesn't show anymore, only the green.

I had a problem with the express cache. I sent it to samsung for servicing and it turned out that the whole motherboard was broken. I had that same symptoms as described here. Long startup times, express cache not working etc. can you see the issd disk in device manager? and can you notice problems with usb connections etc?

The green is the system reserved section, in which, your system file will be stored in that. The blue is the section that your application will fill out. I believe there is some bug inside the Easy Settings. Did you see your EC option on after you open the menu? I had some issue several time that the config was reset itself. Another thing you need to check before calling Samsung is that the iSSD in Device Manager.
I am not sure that because of the motherboard broken. Seem like I had that issue before, but now I used the iSSD as a pagefile partition because I replaced my HDD with SSD, and the iSSD is still functioning. -
After I ran Speedboot and restarted the computer multiple times, the blue bar started showing up - for some reason though, the capacity of the blue bar keeps fluctuating whereas before, the blue bar filled up most of the empty gray space.
I can see the issd disk in device manager and I'm not noticing any problems with usb connections so I'm pretty sure my motherboard is working fine. -
The cache will take time to learn which program has been used the most. Just google Intel Smart Response. The concept is actually the same. However, we don't know exactly how the program of Samsung works like Intel. If it is similar to that, then when you run same program second or third times, it would be cache. Also, if that is the case, then after it runs out the space, it would delete those application that older for new applications. Bear in mind that the iSSD is in SATA 2 mode, which means that it only provide 300 MB/s read at max. Most of SATA 3 SSD only hit about 400-500 of 600, so compare to those, the Sandisk iSSD in the Series 7 would hit about 100-200, just a little bit higher than an 7200RPM HDD.
