Seems very interesting, glad we finally have information regarding the best graphic card in the world. Very good move by Samsung to offer such a top tier gaming machine, will definitely be keeping an eye on them as more information becomes available (pricing, ordering information, availability date, upgrade options etc). Thanks Yknyong1 and Meaker for the pic and the good news :)

We can't be sure that the UK will get it first just because Samsung UK has passed some info to the etailers before Samsung in the other countries.

Is this the unnamed Chrono 17.3" shown at CES 2012? The photo looks the same as NP700G7A.

the only thing i like about this is some word of the 79xxM cards. i've purchased samsung products so many times before because of their superior specifications for less money and i'll never make that mistake again. the significantly lower build quality is too much sacrifice in their case. i've never been happy with a samsung product. i always feel duped, like they tricked me again with their flashy new ideas.

I've had mixed luck with Samsung. The phones I've owned were crap. They were flashy and feature rich but very defective and buggy. However, my TVs, washer/dryer, and even my counter top were all reasonably priced and are great products. I have not, however, owned any of their computers but I am definitely interested in the 7970m. I'm not sure if this alone is enough to make me choose this over another brand.

An NP700G7C is on the Samsung global download site. The brief specs in the back of the manual list both the HM65 and HM75 chipset and HD6970M, HD 7970M and GTX 675M GPUs, all with quad core i7 CPUs. It looks like a Sandy Bridge version might arrive first and an Ivy Bridge version will follow.

How is the cooling generally in Samsung laptops? From the models I've seen, they are relatively thin and it would seem that heat is a concern. How well will it handle a card like the 675m or 7970m?

Well the cooling is ok, but not for everyone's tastes for example whenever I see the fan speeds its always on 30% even when im gaming hardcore (Around 4 hours on BF3) I dont hear the fans speeding up letting the tempratures into the 75 celcious bracket, I am just a little conserned about that as the Sandy Bridge model follows the Asus ROG laptop cooling style at the back vents which is good but I want to squeeze more out of my cooling peformance as I am planning to overclock the AMD 6970M to AMD 6850 stock speeds as it is just a undercloked version of the 6850.

The item description on tiger direct says that it comes with 2nd gen i7 processor and the gtx 675m, so if the picture in op's post is right, then maybe there are two models with the second one releasing with ivy bridge and 7970 later on?

Thanks Instynct for the suggestions but about the cooler it is thick enough for traveling, it is because I use my Alienware for home use (normally bf3) which obviously has more power then the Samsung so if I bought a laptop cooler it would be bearly movable because it already weighs 5kg and it is ripping te case apart. The news about the Ivy bridge version is not so certain (I am not American) but just simply wait for the proper Ivy Bride launch (23 April I think) because there have been do -ups with Samsung in the past about the new gamer model it was posted as nearly as Febaury about the specs so I wouldn't preorder yet if I were you.

I bought it from tiger direct, and also yes it is the ivy bridge version. What do you want to know about it? Just got finished playing ghost recon online on high and also apb reloaded on maximum @ 60 fps.

Here are temps after playing for a few hours.

Are you sure it is ivy bridge? If you don't mind, can you post a picture of the system properties (computer -> system properties). It is not that I don't believe you, I just want to see it for myself. Also how much did you pay for it? It just say sold out when I go to tiger direct.

Wow cant believe that the tigerdirect deal was semi legit, but I'd still like to see a Cpuid screenshot to confirm if its an Oem Ivy Bridge Cpu, or just an Es/Qs chip. If its the real deal this thread should be getting wayyyyyyyyy more hype, as we actually have someone with a legit Ivy Bridge chip that was bought legally (Nda breaking repercussions are inevitable). Would be very interested in seeing proper benchmarks and temps under stresstests, as well as the battery life.
