I have a Samsung series 7 and when i moved my screen a bit it suddenly went dark. I could barely still see things but it makes it nearly impossible to use the laptop. I hooked it up to an HDMI and it works fine and all. Just the screen is dark and I don't know what the problem is. If anyone encountered this issue please help me solve it.

Sounds like either the backlight is dead or its voltage wire has snapped. Check by shining a flash-light on the screen; should be a clear image, if so.
-
I feel it is the backlight but how do I fix that issue?
-
The image is clear and I can see it just dark

What exact laptop model number?

How old is the notebook? IIRC, notebook displays started switching to LED backlighting about 6 years ago. The previous technology was CCFL backlighting which was less reliable due to inverters and tubes.
I would expect a Series 7 to be new enough to have LED backlighting in which case it's the display cable or the connectors at the end of the cable which would be the problem. You may find that if you open and shut the display a few times then the back light will come on again. The mainboard end of the cable is probably easy to check - sometimes a problem can be cleared by disconnecting and reconnecting. Cable replacement and checking the connector in the screen is more difficult - the display isn't made for ease of disassembly.

It's the np700 model and I don't think it has the old style method. Also I did take the whole screen apart and put it back together it was not an easy task but I did it. The screen still has the same issue as before. Could it be an issue on the motherboard or that is unlikely?
-
There are several NP700 models. the full designation please.
I ask as with the NP700G7C early drivers if the screen were at 120hz on the early drivers it would have to be running at 100% brightness or the backlight would go out. -
It is the np700z5b-w01ub model it's a notebook it says

Verify the actual panel with MonInfo. The same laptop model can have both wled and ccfl panels (Dell does this, for one). A wled backlight replacement is tricky, 'impossible' is more like it, you'd need new display then. CCFL is easy (and cheap).
Cable issue would the second-best scenario. Try running with the cable exposed and gently compress it section-by-section, especially near the hinge area. Backlight might suddenly switch back on temporarily, you'd need a new cable then.

When I took the screen apart and all I saw the cables that are going to graphics card had some exposed wire probably from running against a hinge. Could that cause a short? And later tonight I'll open it up again and post some pictures and numbers. I'm hoping it should be a straight forward fix.

Any exposed wires can cause a short.

The way it happened is I think when I adjusted the screen and it went out those wires touched and shorted it. Does this mean I probably have to buy a new screen and all? I think my backlight is like built in. Its just a flat skinny piece id LCD that clips into the metal housing. Or is there some sort of fuse that could be checked?
-
There are fuses on that thing, but you want to test with a new cable first.
-
Is it the cabs that go to the motherboard itself or the 2 little ones that connect to graphics cards
-
Err ... pictures, please

I'll provide them when I get out of work. Hoping to have this issue figured out
