Good choice as I see it.
To save some money may be I will buy Sata II SSD because anyway the notebook doesn't support Sata III.

Is there any news on an Ivy+Kepler model coming in the near future?

So I just pick up a NP700Z3A-S06US from the Microsoft store. I am loving it so far, the only issue I have is the Wifi Connection. :( And it seem like it is a 6230 also, or at least that what my device manager is reporting, I will check it out when I crack her open to install a M4 256 SSD. :)

    Hi everyone,

i'm considering buying the NP700Z3 in the french version (NP700Z3a-S02FR)
i've seen many contradictory messages on the net concerning the backlit keybord.. some website selling this laptop say nothing about it, some say it doesn't have backlit keyboard (but there were also some sites saying this about the NP700Z5C...)

    any intel on this ?
    Thanks !
    Cyril

@Cyril: There are several threads here with active discussions about the 14" series 7, where you may find better response.

I find the backlit keyboard on my NP700Z3A (US) to be excellent, and almost every comment I've seen from others say the same.

Whether the French model you mention actually has the backlight, I'm afraid I cannot say. I think all US series 7 models have it.

There seems to be a shortage of good info about this model. Some websites are giving it a 13.3" screen but I thought it was 14". The suppliers usually use whatever specifications they are given by Samsung and if that doesn't specifically mention the backlit keyboard then no one else mentions it. Usually, backlit keyboards are standard where they are provided unless Samsung have a bulk deal with a major retailer (eg Best Buy in USA, DSG in UK) for a discounted model where some useful features are left out.

I would also note that the Z3A is the older version with the Sandy Bridge CPU. However, it appears that while the Z3C (Ivy Bridge version) has been released in Germany and Italy, it hasn't reached France.
