I wonder if you have killed a component in the power circuit in the notebook so, when you plug in the AC adapter the power is not reaching either the mainboard or the battery. An electronics specialist may be able to follow the circuit and identify the problem.

I had the same problem some weeks ago. The power supply cable went shorted then my computer (NP700Z5C) has behaved exactly as yours.
The computer was no longer under warranty and Samsung Service in Italy asked me more than 50 euro only for a quote on the cost of repair.
After a lot of research I decided to take it apart to check the motherboard, the battery was good and also the power supply apart the cable.
I discovered that the problem was caused by a small component destroyed because of the shorted power cable.
It is a mosfet switch (AP9402 in the circuit diagram and I think your computer uses the same components in the power control circuit). It costs a few euro cents and you can easily find it in internet, but the real problem is to unsolder the old one and solder the new without appropriate equipment.
    It's a 3mm x 3mm PMPAK with 8 "no-protruding" pins and it's very difficult to handle...
I have a bit of familiarity with electronics and I was able to solder it with a good but not professional welder and now everything works as before (of course I also replaced the power supply cable that caused the damage).
I have the schematics of the power control circuit and a picture of my M.B. with "indicted component" but I don't know how to attach to my reply...

    Best wishes

Thank you for this very useful infomation.

I suspect that your inability to attach any files is one of the forum's anti-spammer measures - you need to have several posts to get full use of the facilities (and the situation is not being helped by the current teething troubles of the new forum software).
