I've reset CMOS on my 900X4D recently and upon powering the laptop up the screen says that Intel Anti-Theft technology has locked the system up due to a detected platform attack.
It asks me to input a password which I've never set up. I'm attaching the screenshot.
I'm taking the laptop to the rapairshop tomorrow anyway, but is there a default password I'm not aware of? That'll save me a trip there. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You will have to get Samsung to fix it. If a password was easily available that would clear this then the anti-theft system wouldn't provide protection against theft.
By the way, how did you reset the CMOS? We are unclear on the best procedure for these notebooks.

Windows 8 Advance Startup Options somehow corrupted the UEFI BIOS. It wouldn't let me boot into BIOS or recovery options by pressing F2/F4. In fact no F buttons seemed to have worked at all (ESC, F1-F12). That's why I decided to reset the BIOS in the first place, by disconnecting the CMOS battery.
I've had this laptop for about 20 days now. It should be under warranty still. Though I'm a bit worried now they'll think I did something to it by opening it up. -

You've encountered a variation of the bricking problem.
Samsung should willingly fix it (it's becoming an all-too-familar problem for them) but to be on the safe side don't tell them that you've been inside. There aren't any seals.

Now my laptop is up and running again.
If you think it's safe to post the password here I'll do it! -
I spoke too soon. Even though the laptop boots up properly, I am encountering a boot error 0xc0000001 now.
The BIOS is still inaccessible. It looks like Windows 8 has written something into it which prevents me from booting into BIOS and adjusting settings.
Now I can access UEFI settings from the error screen, however, it wouldn't boot into the DVD like it used to before. The systems seems to ignore any bios settings set.

Unfortunately, none of them seem to have worked. I've just left my laptop with Samsung again. They'll try and fix the BIOS, not sure how exactly, seeing that usually it requires the exchange of the whole M-board. And they also promised to reinstall the system.
Anyway, here's the pointer to the default password.

Did you try those numbers as the default password?
If you aren't being asked for a password then maybe you have a different bricking problem.

I tried giving default password in post 8 against user password or server token password, but does not seem to help. I don't remember registering for this service at all. I found the solution,
I contacted Mcfee customer service, the officer directed me to Absolute software
The last customer representative told me that there are 3 ways to remove the lock
1) Default password: 123456
2) You have created your own 4-6 digit password
3) The last time you call your customer representative, you will create an admin password
I used the second way. Because default password did not work. I bought my computer three years ago.
I probably tried to create a 4-6 digit password and opened my computer.bloom69 likes this. -
Is there a default password other than 123456? If so I would really appreciate it if someone could email it to me. I am having the same issue and have spent several hours on the phone with Intel Anti Technology and Samsung with no results. Thank You! [email protected]

Some posts were reported, so just to make things clear:
Forum rules:
If 123456 does not work then either a real password has been set, in which case you cannot ask for further help in this forum, or it has been firmware-corrupted, in which case you should look in the ' Samsung accumulated Unbricking solutions' thread.
Btw, bought one the affected systems myself and was aware of the defective firmware, so made a 1:1 backup of the still-working bios and added an eeprom socket to the board:
Funny thing is that the full content of the bios is copied into memory during boot for improved performance and sparing the eeprom from read+write cycles (shadowed), so while the system is running the physical chip can be removed (and swapped for a different one). Could also change the eeprom for one that has hardware-pin vetoing powers; regardless of the software setting these will be permanently write-protected when their wp pin (#3) is set to 'On'. A chip like that is vaccinated against firmware corruption, yet it does prevent any further bios changes via the menu. Perfect security against any virus, though.Dannemand likes this. -
