Hi everyone, i've just look about everywhere on google and cannot find a solution and samsung's service centre is close at the moment.

My problem is, i tried to turn on my laptop as i would normally and it just didn't work i've tried to put the power cable into it and the recharge light wont even turn on. i've seen on another forum that you hold down the power button/then hold down the battery disconnect and then plug the power cable in and ive repeated a few time and this hasn't worked.

I haven't spilled anything into the machine nor dropped it. im confused because on Friday last week it was running fine and now its just completely unresponsive.

please if anybody could help me this would really make my day as i've spent half a day pulling out my hair

    thanks

Is the power plug fully pushed in and the light on the charger illuminated? However, a dead PSU shouldn't cause an immediate problem unless the battery in the computer is also drained.

To try reset the CMOS: (i) disconnect the PSU; (ii) push something suitable into the battery connect hole to disconnect the battery and then release (it should stay disconnected until the mains power is connected) then (iii) hold down the power butting for a minute or so. There is more discussion about resetting the computer in the bricking thread. However, bricking rarely happens spontaneously.

Yeah the charger is laminating blue and at the end of 3.5 mm jack is providing 19v and I've even checked where the points of the battery which is receiving 2.8-3.3v

I wonder if there's an internal instruction to not enforce the warranty in the event of this type of problem for some of the notebooks. There must still be a lot of potentially brickable Samsung notebooks out there and, while most problems occured while upgrading to Windows 8, perhaps there are some underlying vulnerabilities.

Yeah, I loved hearing that report from huynh12345. I remember we've had discussions from time to time about whether Samsung might cover design flaws like this even after the warranty period. It's good to know that they do, at least in some cases -- even if we'll never get an official statement to that effect.

Yup will post the tech report on the underlying cause of the system failure, Imo it's probably system board that died
