    Hi guys!

I have a problem with the ELAN Touch pad in my new Samsung Notebook.

I have installed the newest drivers and software via SW Update. When I log in as administrator, everything works just fine (clicking, scrolling, zooming). If I use a different user account though, the touch pad just works very rudimentary and is almost unusable.

I have tried to always run ETDCrlt.exe as administrator. But this causes the ETDCtrl.exe to not run at all. Result of this is that the touch pad works a bit better (e.g. clicking by only touching the pad rather then having to push the pad really hard, right click works), but no scrolling and no zooming for both, admin and other users.

    Does anyone have similar issues?
Or does anyone have an idea what I could do to have this touch pad working properly for the windows user accounts? Any advice will be appreciated.

    With kind regards from Germany

    Uli

Hardware ID of touch pad ACPI\ETD0B00
Driver Version Version 11.7.9.5 of Feb 2013

I don't recall this being previously reported as a problem. Most of the touchpad discussion is in this thread, so check there. You have a newer driver than most people are using. Perhaps it introduced some new bugs so look around for an older driver and try that.

You don't mention whether you are running Windows 7 or Windows 8. If you are running Windows 7 then also see this thread about Easy Settings.
