    Hi,
After upgrade to windows 8 for a while, I notice that the fan isn't spinning any more. I read that there might be an issue with the BIOS so try to downgrade but don't know which file to downgrade to. Anyone can help me with this? The latest file that my laptop gave is ITEM_20131127_21276_WIN_P07AAC. So do I find P06AAC bios file downgrade to that? Thanks

It is possible that your Win 8.1 is running fewer background processes than previously so there is less CPU activity and consequently lower temperatures.

First I would check the CPU temperatures using either HWiNFO or HWMonitor. A CPU temperature below about 60C will result in the fan(s) are running slowly and you won't hear the noise unless you put your ear against the keyboard. Then load the CPU using wPrime and see what happens to the temperature and the fan noise. Once the temperature exceeds 70C I would expect the fan noise should be very audible and prevent the temperature rising much further.

If you still want to downgrade the BIOS then see http://forum.notebookreview.com/samsung/696197-samsung-laptops-roll-back-bios-updates.html. The previous BIOS is called ITEM_20130219_1005_WIN_P06AAC.
