Samsung Ultrabook 13" Series 5 NP540U3C Paint job

Most notebooks, Samsung include are a variation of silver in color... how BORING!
So I painted my Samsung Ultrabook 13" Series 5 NP540U3C notebook.

An custom paint job should also discourage the thieves.

I sure will John... glad to... but it will have to wait until later tonight as I have company and we're heading to Seattle to see the Blue Angles and Hydra Boat races in a bit....

 

Actually this was one of the easier ones I did. Did NOT have to mask anything!
The others I did was some painstaking, time consuming masking.
First I got this: (9 colors to choose from)

I didn't like the clear look on it so I figured I'd paint it the color I wanted, Cherry Metalflake Red.
First, I roughed it up with 2,000 grit sandpaper.
Wiped clean with alcohol.
Then sprayed 10 coats of krylon Glitter Blast Cherry Red Metalflake, 10 minutes apart.
Then sprayed 10 coats of Krylon Glitter Blast Clear Sealer, 10 minutes apart.
While applying Krylon Glitter Blast Clear Sealer is not required, a few coats of it will make the surface smooth.
Let dry for 24 hours and it's ready for daily use!

This notebook gets attention where ever I go. I mean most all notebooks are either silver or black or silver/black combo. How DULL!

On John's comment about making it harder to steal... in most cases yes, but the cover comes off easy on this one, but, the crooks don't know that

I wouldn't have known that it was a clip-on cover, which does make it easier to paint.
