Hi
I was wondering in general, how easy are samsung laptops to upgrade the hard drive to an SSD?
I am thinking of buying an RV511 or RF510 then immediately putting an SSD in there. Is this a difficult task or would it be fairly simple?
Thanks for any replies
Edit: I have found the following info for a samsung rv510
Would the rv511 be as simple as that????? The hard drive simply slides out the side?? I thought it would require removing lots of parts but if i could simply slide out the old one and slide an SSD back in it's place that would be fantastic!

The HDD is easily accessible on most Samsung notebooks. You can check out the model you are interested in by downloading the user guide and looking at the pictures of the bottom.
If the HDD slides out of the side then it will also have the external cover fixed to the end of the drive by one or two screws. You would need to swap this to the SSD. The screw holes are in the same places.
Unless you are planning to reinstall Windows, it will be easiest to close the HDD onto the SSD using a bootable CD of Acronis or similar. That way you will also carry across the Samsung factory image. Samsung may not supply a separate installation disc.
