Can anyone recommend alternatives? Since Samsung seems to be anti-american all of a sudden.

I basically want something well built, meaning, it's made of metal, and not plastic. Magensium, or Titanium will do well.

The cheap Fujitsu N3510 was scratched up bad while in the repair shop.... I am sick of the Fujitsu brand.

    Thanks

.. there is always the apple macbook pro. they have hacke windows xp to run on it. if they can fix the graphics drivers now it will be a good alternative. certainly one of the best built qualities out there..

Thanks, I decided to get a Titanium Lenovo IBM Z60m. I will just send it in to an LCD specialist to have the screen polarized, to make it glossy.
