I have a problem that recently, out of nowhere, I get the installation wizard and message balloon at the bottom right corner telling me that the SCSI and RAID controller is unknown and that there was the problem installing it. I ran devmgmt.msc and it says its an unknown device and also everything about it is unknown: owner and location. It says in the device status:

This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)

To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.

What can I do? I was thinking about a system recovery...would this help? Also have never done one before, what will it do? I know I can choose to restore windows files and not user data but what are windows files and also even if I backup my important dataelse where, what does a complete restore change? One other thing, in the D: drive, I have 3 files, what are they?

Alot of questions I know but if i could even just get the RAID SCSI controller fixed that would be great. I don't know much about computers, please, if there's a solution, make it as simple as possible when explaining it!
