I have a 14 inch series 5 laptop and so far my second power supply just died. I had to replace the original power supply after 3 weeks of use, and now the 2nd one after 6 month of use. I'm not sure if it is the laptop that causing it, what are the chances of a laptop that causes AC power supply to fail?

I have both a sony and lenovo think pad that I had never replace a power even after 5 years of use...Is any one else having power issues with Samsung laptops.

There aren't many reports here of PSU problems.

What CPU and GPU do you have and what is the PSU power rating?

How hot does the PSU get in normal use and worst case (CPU / GPU intensive activity and battery charging).

Is your BIOS up-to-date (run the Samsung BIOS updater program)?

it is i5 and amd radeon HD7550M, the power is not hot, Its not used that heavily only, but I usually leave the laptop on sleep. BIOS is up to date. And the power died while it was in sleep and not even been used.

I have to wonder, if two PSUs have died during sleep, whether the mains power includes some nasty spikes. I would use a surge suppressor between the mains socket and the PSU.
