My Samsung Notebook had a windows xp installed in. I formatted the Disc and during installation when creating disc drive, I am getting the message which states that windows cannot be installed to this drive C. This is when I was installing windows 7. What can I do to recover this problem? And I deleted the Recovery software after formatting. Where can I download again that software?
Thanks alot,
Pemata2001.

Hi Pemata, welcome to NBR.
There are a few potential reasons for you being unable to install Windows:
1) If your model has ExpressCache, then you're running into a common issue with Windows Setup incorrectly identifying the boot disk. We get that all the time. See this thread from last week -- including explanation and links to solutions.
2) If your model was delivered with Win8, that means it is configured for UEFI on a GPT disk, which is very different from the (simpler) configuration of old Win7 and XP computers. See this post for explanation -- and important reading for anyone not familiar with UEFI and GPT.
In any case can you use this Win7 install guide which takes both issues into account.
Of course maybe your problem is something else entirely, but these are likely candidates.
If you deleted the Recovery Partitions on your disk, there really is no practical way of getting it back. It is NOT just a software you can download, but an entire package configured specifically for your computer, including an image of the factory windows installation. And even if you were able to get hold of a copy somewhere, it requires special tools to re-create the Recovery. The procedure and tools are different for models delivered with Win7 and Win8. This post gives an overview.
