My computer was working perfect fine until recently, multiple programs just stops responding and the whole computer freezes. I had no idea what's going on and I'm pretty sure I'm not overworking my CPU since the percentage remained under 10% almost all the time. And the most weirdest thing was that I have no problems if I restarted the computer (with a hard shut down) without the charging cable. Can someone help me please? I love this computer and I needed it for college so I don't have time to send it back to the manufacturer.

Run ActiveSMART as a trial and see what is says about the HDD health. A dying HDD can cause everything else to stop while waiting for disk read / write.

Then back up your data and reinstall Windows (Samsung would want you to do this before agreeing that it is a hardware problem). Pressing F4 at the BIOS screen should get you the option to so a full restore (unless you deleted the recovery partition).

Would a PSU also cause this type of problem? And should I backup my data with the Samsung Recovery Solution 5?

    1. I don't think it's the PSU because the computer should switch over to battery if there's a power problem.

    2. It's always prudent to make a backup or two.

I can't even backup my data using either the Samsung Recovery Solution 5 or Windows' own backup program. Every time it has copied around 85-90%, my laptop freezes and everything just stops responding. I am doing manual backup back dragging and dropping files onto my external drives and I plan on re installing windows tomorrow, but before I do it and restore the files, how do I know if the recovery partition still exists and wasn't deleted accidentally?

Did you check the HDD SMART data? If SRS is hanging during a backup then I wonder if it has encountered some unreadable disc sectors and doesn't know what to do.

You can look in computer Management > Disk Management to see if the Recovery partition is listed.

My computer is now back into its initial state but I have two problems remained. One is that I don't know if my express cache is working or not because I can't see it in the easy settings anymore. Secondly is that my computer still constantly switches back and forth from ac powered to running on battery. I believe the second problem is my PSU but I'm not sure.
