Hey!
I have a few questions about the Samsung series 5 Ultrabook 14"
- the specs state that it has 16 GB Express Cache. Is this an mSATA SSD? If so, can you put a bigger one in there, and disable the Express Cache, so you have more memory?
- Can you replace the existing HDD by an SSD and put the HDD in the optical drive spot? (I did that with my pc, and it works fine, but I'm not sure it works on every system)
- What is the maximal RAM capacity? Is it 16GB?
Thanx!

1. ExpressCache is usually soldered on the motherboard.
2. You should be able to replace the HDD with an SSD and put the HDD into the optical bay. Plenty of people have gone that route with the Series 7.
3. Maximum RAM will depend in whether you have one SIDIMM slot or two. The Series 7 notebooks usually have 4GB soldered on board plus one SODIMM slot (ie maximum RAM = 12GB). I don't know if the Series 5 is similar.
What model are you considering? If you give the specific model number then we can look for the specifications.

Hey John!
Thanx for your answer!
I would like to have the Samsung series 5 Ultra 14 inch. I think it has this model number:

One of the reviews on Amazon mentions adding 4GB RAM to give 8GB. It implies there may only be one slot. You would also need to check the HDD thickness. If it is 9.5mm then any 2.5" SSD will fit but if it is 7mm thickness then you will need a 7mm SSD (eg Samsung).
