My brightness keeps changing without me doing anything. When I go to different pages on firefox or sometimes go to the desktop the screen brightness will randomly go a little lower or a little higher. Do you guys know how to fix this problem?

    Thanks!

It also couldn't hurt to turn off adaptive brightness in Windows' power settings. AFAIK, it isn't changed even when you uncheck that Easy Settings box, but it does do the trick.

Desktop -> Personalize -> Screen Saver -> Change power settings -> Change plan settings -> Change advanced power settings -> Display -> Adaptive brightness

Not long-winded at all though. :p

Also, I am not sure if this is possible however is their a way to make custom touchpad gestures?

I don't know about customisation but there are far more options in the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\Elantech\SmartPad than the user interface provides access to. Make a backup before you start to experiment. Use this thread if you want to continue the trackpad discussion.

I got ya. Thanks for the reply.

    Just one last question, haha:

I have noticed when you put pressure on the area left of the touchpad (the smaller area), the touchpad is slow and sometimes doesn't even let me move the mouse. Have you guys noticed that?

Is their a fix for this?

(By putting pressure, I mean resting my left hand on it)

Hey guys, the brightness issue went away after I made those two corrections however now it has returned. It changes the screens brightness depending if I am on a dark page or light page. I have re-checked that it is disabled in both areas just as you said but it continues to do it.....

I wonder if if the adaptive brightness in the Intel graphics driver is still at work. First look through the options of the Intel graphics control panel and if you can't find it there then go to the Startup tab of msconfig, look for (i) Intel common user interface (igfxpers.exe) and (ii) Intel common user interface (igfxtray.exe) and disable them.
