    Hi notebookreview,

    Samsung Series 5 Ultrabook np540u3c-a03ub
    Windows 10 pro 64-bit

I've had this ultrabook for a little over a year now and haven't ever been able to fully enjoy the touchpad on it. These are issues for which I've searched high and low and haven't found any relevant support. Also, this isn't a Windows 10 issue--these issues were present in 8.1 as well for me and on several driver versions (11.7.18, 11.7.2, 11.7.33).

    Elan touchpad issues:
-Scroll speeds vary from program to program
-Some programs aren't affected by the scroll speed setting at all
-Scroll speeds vary from active to non-active windows (Windows 10-specific)
-Scrolling sometimes jumps back in the other direction at very slow/fine speeds

Using KatMouse is an effective workaround for the first two, but breaks some metro UI scrolling.

    Thanks!

I never had these issues with any Elan driveror OS.

Maybe X-Mouse Button Control can help you. Make sure you use the latest beta to get metro UI scrolling back!

Thank you. That beta is exactly what I was looking for.
Not sure why I've never seen anyone else have these problems. Must be an old laptop I guess!
