I have a Series 3 11.6" i3 laptop with the preinstalled 4gb. I have read here and researched the overpriced 8gb RAM option ( Crucial 8GB DDR3-1333 (PC3-10600) CL9 SO-DIMM Laptop Memory Module 649528754684). Some have said that there may be a second RAM slot on the MB.
Anyone found a reasonably-priced way to upgrade the RAM to 8GB? Would love to hear about it.

You can try running programs such as CPU-z or HWiNFO32 and see if they list a second RAM socket. Also, doesn't Crucial have a RAM advisor tool?

I didn't actually disassemble mine any further, but when I had the bottom off, I shined a flashlight underneath the motherboard and looked, and can't see how there could be a second SODIMM slot on the other side. There simply isn't any room for the thickness of the slot, plus I didn't see anything sticking out that looked like a RAM slot.

zap already took apart the laptop and by looking at the picture I am confident that there is no hidden 2nd slot. Why would they even make it so hidden?

over at the egg you can find 2 different 8 gb sticks two different 8 gb options at the egg both are $149.99 with free shipping for me this would be an estimated 163.11, cause I would have to pay ca sales tax I dunno about you.
PS: the next time one of you tears off the hood of this laptop (ssd or hd replacement please take decent high res pics. I dun have a decent cam
