Hi, I see a lot of chatter about the Series 9 and 7, but I'm looking at a Series 5 13.3 inch laptop.

I'd like to get some feedback on the Display and Speakers. The user will be listening to music and watching video on it.

    Thanks!

It's not a very high resolution display, but it has a nice, matte finish on it. The speakers are adequate, but keep in mind ... it's just a laptop.

Thanks, I didn't realize the screen was matte. That definitely makes it more desirable for me.

I see that there are 2 new Series 5's coming out (14 inch and 15.6) that will have JBL branded speakers (and a sub on the 15.6) - any idea if they will do something similar with the 13.3?

Saw the 15.6 in a store down here, the screen as bad as the Series 7 Chronos, and the speakers are nothing short of spectacular, even though the Dell XPS 15 sounded a little bit more balanced ( = a tad flatter response to be exact, the Samsung are a bit more of the "punchy-punchy" type)

I had huge interest on the laptop, but screen quality was too much of a disappointment =/

I guess the 15.6 is 1366 x 768? That would be a big deterrent. However, if the 13.3 inch is rocking that same resolution it wouldn't be an issue. I like what you have to say about the speakers though. Anyone chime in if they've heard anything about a 13.3 revamp upcoming?

I have the 15.6" and yes, the screen is definitely the weakest part of the package. It's not so much the resolution that bothers me but the low contrast.

However, the speakers are really clear, loud and full of bass (compared to other laptop speakers). There's certainly no need for cheap external speakers for this laptop. I can't detect any distortion at full volume.

Soon, I shall be posting a full review of the 550P series.
