I've had laptop a couple of months now, and all is going well. Today, my Dell U3011 arrived and I have it hooked up to mini-DP and it is going fine. Also have a portrait 23" 1080p hooked up to HDMI and it is good.
Question 1: Is it possible to run laptop screen + two external monitors? I can't get it to let me run more than two at a time -- have to turn off laptop screen to use 2nd external.
Question 2: How can I tell if it is running discrete graphics card vs. onboard graphics? I've spent several hours looking for clues, and can't figure it out. Don't notice any different when I change the settings for this. I am guessing that Intel graphics is running, due to the Intel settings box opening when I right click and go to "graphics properties" but I am not sure.
Question 3: I read someplace on here that Intel graphics could not support 2560x1600 @ 60 hz ( would only work at lower freq.) But assuming I am correct in #2 mine certainly appears to be doing it, PLUS driving second 1080p monitor too. Can anyone clarify this?
Thanks a bunch! I appreciate the feedback.

Thank you for that update, baron.
As far as I know, the NP700G7C gamer is the only model of Samsung laptops that specifically supports three simultaneous monitors. Others have been restricted to either two external or one external plus the internal. Presumably because of the integrated Intel graphics, as already mentioned.
I was glad to hear you can do 2560x1600 @ 60Hz through DisplayPort. Others have reported max 2560x1440 @ 41Hz (custom res) through HDMI. -

Edit: Just came across this Wikipedia article which describes the issue of three active displays. I apologize if this was already common knowledge. At least I didn't know.

Good stuff, thanks!
It might be possible to do it via MST, e.g...
World's First Multi Stream Transport (MST) Hub Released by Club 3D
I believe I read that mini-DP was 1.2 compatible.
Or I also saw a USB 3.0 adaptor which claimed to support 2560x1600.
I am actually pretty content with my current setup, other than intellectual curiosity. -
BTW, I still have not figured out how to force dedicated graphics ( or know for certain which is in use), if anyone had any ideas.
Thanks! -
Many games think they are running on the HD4000 even when they actually ARE switched to the AMD. Use the Summary screen in HWInfo to see whether the discrete GPU is active. As described in this post.
I apologize if you meant something else -
Thanks! Downloaded HWinfo -- great tool!
