    Hi Folks,

I bought a top of the range Series 7 S01 in the UK when the laptop was launched. When I received the laptop I noticed a couple of issues that worried me considering the laptop cost €1150.

    1) The metal keyboard area is raised on the right and not flush with the
    plastic Palmrest.

    2) The metal bezel above the the screen is protruded where the webcam is fitted

I should have returned the laptop but against my better judgement I overlooked the problems with the machine. Anyhow, six months and things have got progessivly worse!

The plastic palmrest has dints in it under bright light(as if the internal components have warped it!)

When I open the laptop I can see marks left by the keyboard, although they can be wiped off this indicates bad build quality to me. The laptop rarely travels and is kept in a sleeve and carry bag when it does so it isn't living the hard life. I am just wondering if any others are having similar problems and whether people think it's worth while calling Samsung for a replacement? It is an expensive piece of kit after all.

    Apologies for the long post.

The metal keyboard / palm rest area on mine does not sit flush with the plastic sides - in some areas it is higher, in some lower, in some flush.

I do not have any issues with the screen bezel.

Grease/oils/dirt from my keyboard does end up on the screen when I close the lid (so I only close it when traveling).

Thanks sean, maybe a replacement would have many of the same issues then. I have to admit I am a little disappointed, coming from a Dell M1530 which had great build quality I expected more from samsung! feels the machine is cobbled together to be honest.
