I just downloaded and installed the latest firmware for my Series 7 Chronos 15.6" laptop. Anyone have any clue what it fixes? I can't tell if anything was fixed after installing it.

You can get it by installing the Samsung Bios Update Utility program from the Samsung Series 7 Chronos page. That program just checks for the latest bios update and then installs it.

    I just update too.

I'm not sure about the exact changelog but I can tell you it fixed the issue I had when my one was not going to sleep when you close the lid, it switched off the display, but the unit was still running, as well as the back-lit keyboard. (This is still with the old 15.6 ATI models)

Glad that it has been sorted out because it was really annoying me. (did anyone else have this issue?)

EDIT: Scratch that, the the problem is back :/ Any advice would be nice

@slate: sorry to ask the obvious, but you did check under Windows power settings that it's set to sleep when you close the lid?

@Bryan: thank you for the heads-up about the firmware update :)

@Dannemand, don't be sorry, your obviousness and my stupidness just solved the issue!

Turns out the issue was that I needed to enable 'Hybrid Sleep' mode in the Windows Power Settings under the 'Sleep' menu. For some reason it changed to disabled when I updated the EasySettings driver. I was overthinking the problem thinking it was some BIOS/Driver issue, turns out its just as simple as that. thanks anyways!
