    Hello,

I have a series 7 chronos laptop and every couple minutes when I click, the touchpad stays stuck down, and I have to wait a little while until it gets unstuck, or if I hit the underside of the laptop it will pop itself back up so that i can click again.

    Any fix on this issue?

    Thanks!!!

first update your drivers and use the forum search to find the related thread and read through it - there are a couple of fixes available to make the touchpad more responsive / accurate.

LOL. Seriously?!?! You are telling him to update his drivers for a hardware related problem? His touchpad is actually sticking to the pressed down position.

Trying to help is always nice, but atleast read the original post first before you do.

OT, I've had this happend once to me, but never again, but I actually started to think about it at that time, wondering if this would be an issue in the future, but it haven't happend since. So perhaps its a non issue and it will solve itself shortly.

But if it doesn't do, return it to have it repaired or swapped out. Or perhaps even refund it, if that is what you want.

No worries, I just think it's funny when someone offers a software cure for a hardware problem like that. :)

Wanting to help is the most important part thou, so cheers for that. :)

The trackpad on the Z5A is known to shift around after some time. If you realise the trackpad has shifted towards the left or right, and hence no gap on that side, you have to disassemble the laptop and manually shift the position. Otherwise get Samsung to replace the top cover.

can you maybe make a picture so we can see what you mean? my trackpad also goes a bit down but not so much to call it an hardware issue - i'd like to see what you mean so we can compare.

    Thanks for the input guys.

My trackpad is always lower on the left side than on the right. It is flush on the right, and very springy abd depressed on the left.

I havent had the sticking issue for a couple days now. Im thinking it's just an issue of "breaking it in?" I would return it to samsung, but I need a laptop for school and work and cant afford to have it sit in the shop for a month!

And how do you fix the "shift?" do you unscrew the back and shift the innards to the correct side? im confused.

    Thanks guys!

edit: I dont think a picture would show the sticking issue. YOu know how when you click it like normal you can feel it click and it goes down a milimeter? well my problem was i would click, and then when i try to click it again, there is no more travel. it gets stuck in the lowest "click" position for a minute until it works itself back up.
